Meet Your Host

Alyssa Small Layne, MD
Board-Certified OBGYN · Gynecologic Surgeon · Mom Through Surrogacy
Hi, I'm Dr. Small Layne — and I know what it's like to sit on the other side of the surrogacy journey.
After seven years of infertility, multiple surgeries, miscarriage, and a ruptured uterus, my husband and I welcomed our daughter via surrogacy in 2022. I've lived the heartbreak. I've done the research. I've asked every question—and learned the hard way what I wish someone had told me sooner.
Now, I'm using both my personal journey and my professional training as an OBGYN to help you feel empowered, not overwhelmed.
I created Surrogacy Made Simple to be the podcast I wish I had. It's part of our larger mission at JUNIE, the company I co-founded with my husband. Together, we've built tools like the BloomBridge app to make surrogacy simple, supported, and successful—the way it should always be.
So whether you're brand new to surrogacy, just dipping your toe in, or already a few steps down the path, I'm here to help you feel informed, supported, and one step closer to your baby.
